FAQs

Do I need a referral?

No, a referral is not required to see a Counsellor.

Will Medicare reimburse me for my Counselling session?

No, sessions with She do not attract a rebate. Many clients choose to pay privately for counselling sessions so that it is not recorded on any government health records, as is the case when you access a Mental Health Care Plan provided by a GP. Mental Health Plans do attract a rebate from Medicare but there is usually a gap payable directly to the service provider. In many cases the fee a private Counsellor charges will be equal to, or less than, the gap payable.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend entirely on the nature of the concerns and the rate at which progress is made. This is regularly assessed by both client and Counsellor as the process unfolds. Clients coming to She Counselling are not covered by a Mental Health Care Plan which means there are no constraints on the number of sessions a client can access. Often this results in a deeper level of exploration and a greater sense of personal control over a person’s growth, healing or change.

What are the session fees?

Payments can be made by cash, direct deposit or EFTPOS immediately following your session. Telehealth sessions must be pre-paid prior to your session. If you are a Plan Managed NDIS client your invoice will be sent directly to your Plan Manager.

Initial sessions run for 75 minutes. These sessions are considered ‘intake’ sessions where your personal information is collected and other mandatory paperwork is completed.
